Fred Lawton

Fred Lawton is the Cataloguer for the Popular Culture & Science Department. Based in London, his sale highlights include The Rory Gallagher Collection, The Maxi Jazz Collection, The Spencer Davis Collection in Los Angeles and multiple specialist sales of Rock, Pop and Film, British Cool and Pop X.

Before joining Bonhams, Fred worked both as an auction house specialist and in music publishing, bringing with him a key understanding of copyright and royalty rights. Graduating from the University of Exeter in 2018, he studied Anthropology and focused on Ethnomusicology and Sound in Society leading to his dissertation on Punk Culture.

Fred is also a guitarist, and has a broad knowledge of music, TV and film.
