Marcel Brouwer

Marcel Brouwer is International Specialist of Modern Decorative Art & Design, Europe, based in the Netherlands. He plays a key role in the international Design department, helping our Paris team to build Design sales and supporting the teams in London, New York and Brussels. He also works closely with the Bonhams Network in Scandinavia at Bukowskis in Sweden and Bruun Rasmussen in Denmark.

Marcel's areas of expertise spans furniture, glass, ceramics, silver and works of art, ranging from Art Nouveau and mid-century design to postmodern and contemporary design – including Bauhaus, Space Age and the Memphis Group.

Before joining Bonhams in 2022, Marcel worked at Christie's in Amsterdam, Paris and London, then became an entrepreneur in the auction world, setting up Design sales at a local auctioneers in Rotterdam. He is a Design specialist on the national TV program Tussen Kunst & Kitsch, the Dutch version of The Antiques Roadshow.
