Robin Starr

Robin Starr is the General Manager of Bonhams Skinner, New England's oldest auction house, with a distinguished history dating back to its founding in 1962. A pivotal member of the team for over three decades, Starr has brought invaluable expertise, leadership, and vision to the auction house. Her strategic guidance has been instrumental in shaping Bonhams Skinner's evolution, especially following its 2022 acquisition by Bonhams.

Throughout her career at Bonhams Skinner, Robin has held prominent leadership roles, including Vice President and Director of American & European Works of Art, while establishing herself as one of the auction house's leading auctioneers. During her tenure, she oversaw the sale of numerous high-profile works, including Blue Flower by Agnes Martin, sold for $1.5 million in May 2015 and Abraham Lincoln: The Man by Augustus Saint-Gaudens sold for $1.15 million in January 2022 to Alfred von Wierusz-Kowalski's The Daring Escape, sold for $504,500 in May 2020.

Outside of Bonhams Skinner, Robin is a major contributor to Boston's thriving arts and culture community. In addition to conducting numerous benefit appraisal days, lectures and auctions throughout the year, she has lectured in art history at various colleges across New England, including 19 years as a Lecturer at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. She is also an appraiser on PBS television series The Antiques Roadshow.

Starr holds an M.A. in the History of Art from Williams College and a bachelor's degree with a double major in Art History and Physics.
