Joan Yip

Joan Yip is a Senior Specialist and Head of Sale for Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art auctions. Based in Paris, she is also the core liaison for Indian, Himalayan and Southeast Asian Art for Chinese and European clients.

After studying art in Hong Kong, China and France, Joan began her career in the Parisian art gallery sector before joining Sotheby's Asian Art department in Paris, where she was a Specialist in Chinese Art and Southeast Asian Painting for ten years. There, she participated in several legendary sales and won several record-breaking consignments of Vietnamese modern paintings, including the iconic Portrait de Mademoiselle Phuong by Mai Trung Thu from the Madame Dothi Dumonteil Collection, which sold for HK$24million in 2021.

Joan is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, French and English.
