Sharon Chan

Sharon Chan is Head of Department, Director of Watches in Asia. Based in Hong Kong, she works closely with the Asia Pacific regional offices and oversees the department's ten auctions a year. She is also the VP of Macau Horologe Association and a member of the Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries Federation.

Sharon has more than 21 years' experience in the auction business for both jewelry and watches at multiple international auction houses. Previously as leading specialist and Head of Watches in Sotheby's Hong Kong between 2011-16, she orchestrated many important watches auctions in Hong Kong, with sales growing from strength to strength and achieving the highest total for any sale of timepieces in Asia in 2013. She was also responsible for curating one of the world's largest private watch collections, which fetched a record-breaking $6 million at auction in 2015.

In 2017-18, before returning to the auction business and joining Bonhams, Sharon expanded her professional career and operated a private watch business and client consultancy. With her extensive experience, she possesses strong connections with collectors around the world and plays an important role in expanding the watch market in Asia. Since then, Sharon has strengthened the team to achieve the highest sale total for the category at Bonhams, the highest value record for a wristwatch sold at Bonhams with the Richard Mille | Rafael Nadal, RM27-01 ANCA in 2024, and a world record on the Cartier clock.
