
Leo Webster
Leo Webster is a Picture Specialist at Bonhams in Edinburgh. His areas of interest span Scottish and British art throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, with a particular focus on 19th century artist travellers, British Aestheticism, the Glasgow Boys and Colourists.
In his role, Leo has overseen several exceptional sales - including an extremely rare early view in Mexico by British artist Daniel Thomas Egerton, which achieved £344,750; two landscapes by George Chinnery, which realised the second and third highest prices ever achieved at auction for the artist; and a rare and exceptionally striking early 19th century work on paper by Peter Rindisbacher depicting a marvellously decorated Canadian dog cariole in Hudson Bay, sold for £112,750.
Leo joined the Edinburgh team in 2022 having started at Bonhams' Knightsbridge Pictures department in 2016, after completing his Master's degree in Art History at the University of St Andrews. He spent several years working in the Marine and Topographical Pictures departments, achieving the title of Specialist in both, before, joining the 19th Century team in New Bond Street in 2021.
