Rebecca Bohle

Rebecca Bohle is a Specialist for Jewellery in Edinburgh. She is a fully qualified gemmologist (FGA) and is responsible for all jewellery valuations in Scotland.

Her love of jewellery began when she saw a diamond cluster brooch that her grandmother received for naming a motor vessel in 1935. The story behind the object kindled an interest in bygone artefacts, and she still enjoys hearing how her clients' jewellery is linked to the past. Today, her favourite designers are Suzanne Belperron, Sybil Dunlop and Scottish contemporary designer Malcolm Appleby.

Rebecca has over 20 years' experience in the fine art auction business, previously specialising in ceramics and glass. Her recent successes at Bonhams include a mid-20th century Sri Lankan 24.66cts sapphire ring, selling for £21,500; a 5.35cts diamond ring selling for £44,400; and a 4.01cts diamond ring selling for £41,880. She was also involved in the valuation of an important Scottish historical ring.

Before joining Bonhams is 2014, Rebecca worked in the North East of England for 10 years where she was Branch Manager and Associate Director of an international auction house. She is a fellow of the Gemmological Association (FGA) and a committee member (treasurer) of the Scottish Gemmological Association.
