
Ralph Taylor
Ralph Taylor is Global Head of Post-War & Contemporary Art for Bonhams in New York, London, Los Angeles, Paris and Hong Kong, as well as our international network.
As Global Head, Ralph has overseen all 20 of Bonhams' highest results for Post-War & Contemporary Art, including a collection of works by Yayoi Kusama from the collection of the late Dr Teruo Hirose ($15,200,000), Keith Haring's Grace House mural ($3,860,000), Mark Bradford's Dream Deferral (£1,565,000), Frank Auerbach's E.O.W. on her Blue Eiderdown V (£2,042,500) and an exceptional Girl and Balloon by Banksy (£4,600,000).
Under Ralph, the department has grown by over 1,000%. He has also been instrumental in initiating an exhibition program that included ZERO Gutai Kusama, The Colony Room, Masters of Minimalism and Surfaces. In 2018, he oversaw the first-ever exhibition of works by Richard Lin outside of Taiwan, a partnership with all five of the artist's children.
Ralph joined Bonhams in early 2014 as Senior Director for Post-War & Contemporary Art in Europe, before being promoted to his current role in 2017. From 2008-2014, he worked as Managing Director (Sales and Acquisitions) at Lazarides Gallery in London, New York and Los Angeles. From 2005-2008, he was a Specialist in Post-War & Contemporary Art at Sotheby's in London. Ralph holds a First Class degree in English Literature and History of Art from the University of Leeds, and a Masters in European Modernism from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London.
Ralph is fluent in English and French.
