
Jennifer Tonkin
Jennifer Tonkin is Co-Head of Department UK for Jewellery at Bonhams New Bond Street in London. Her main area of interest is jewellery produced in Britain, France and America between 1930-70 and she also enjoys researching antique jewels with ancestral provenance. Her favourite jewellers are Cartier, Paul Flato, Andrew Grima and Van Cleef & Arpels.
Among Jennifer's exceptional results are a Chaumet diamond necklace which sold for £305,200 in September 2023, a ruby and diamond 'Camellia' brooch by Van Cleef & Arpels, circa 1970 which achieved £94,800 in April 2022, and a 4.76 carat step-cut diamond ring which realised £89,000 in December 2021.
Jennifer sources property for our jewellery sales in London and Paris, and regularly travels to Europe on business. She has specialised in jewellery since 2014 and portrait miniatures since 2010, having joined Bonhams in 2006. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Illustration from the Arts Institute at Bournemouth and a Postgraduate Diploma in the History & Business of Art & Collecting from IESA in Paris.
