Los Angeles – This August, Bonhams will present the third annual The Art of Hawaiʻi sale, a themed auction celebrating Hawaiian artists and their works that capture the beauty and spirit of the Pacific Islands. Taking place on August 6 in Los Angeles, the sale will feature a myriad of notable works by notable kamaʻāina artists including Betty Ecke (Tseng Yu-Ho) (1925-2017), David Howard Hitchcock (1861-1943), Lloyd Sexton, Jr, (1912-1990), and Lionel Walden (1861-1933), to name a few.
Among the standouts offered within the sale includes Kualoa Ranch, Oʻahu, circa 1864-65, by Enoch Wood Perry (1831-1915), estimated at $120,000 – 180,000. Additionally, three paintings by Lloyd Sexton, Jr. (1912-1990) including Puako Ponds, 1968, estimated at $40,000 – 60,000; Kawela Bay, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, 1972, estimated at $12,000 – 18,000; and Punaluʻu, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, 1968, estimated at $12,000 – 18,000 will also be offered in the sale.

• November, 1963 by Betty Ecke (Tseng Yu-Ho) (1925-2017), estimated at $20,000 – 30,000.
