Larry Lucchino's Collection of Boston Red Sox Memorabilia Hits a Home Run at Bonhams Skinner
From the 2004 Boston Red Sox World Series – the Commissioner's Trophy sells for $165K and Championship Ring sells for $100K

Boston – The historic collection of sports memorabilia from Larry Lucchino (1945-2024), celebrated baseball executive and former President of the Boston Red Sox, achieved exceptional results at Bonhams Skinner when it closed on December 4. The sale drew heavy interest from Red Sox fans especially to Lucchino's iconic items from the team's curse-breaking 2004 World Series Championship. This includes the Commissioner's trophy which sold for $165,000, 4x its estimate, his Championship ring which sold for $100,000, 2x its estimate, and the third base used in the Series clinching fourth game which sold for $70,000, 3x its estimate. Excited bidding also pushed a pair of Fenway Park Grandstand Seats that were installed in 1934 over 21x their estimate selling for $22,000. Additionally, Red Sox World Series Trophies all exceed their estimates with the 2007 trophy selling for $46,000, the 2013 trophy selling for $61,000, and the 2018 trophy selling for $46,000.

Curse-Breaker: The Collection of Larry Lucchino overall achieved $740,000 with 95% sold by lot.

The sale also saw memorabilia signed by sport's icons exceed their estimates. This includes a signed black and white photo of Red Sox outfielder and manager Ted Williams (1918-2002) sold for $4,100, 7x its estimate, and a 1935 Babe Ruth (1895-1948) and Fred M. Frankhouse (1904-1989) signed Boston Braves photo which sold for $4,000, 2x its estimate. Additionally, a photo signed by former New England Patriot Tom Brady (b. 1977) sold for $3,600, 9x its estimate, and a Rob 'Gronk' Gronkowski (b. 1989) signed Patriots jersey sold for $4,100, 7x its estimate.
