Penny Andrews, Bonhams Head of Watches London, said: "Wow what a night! It was a pleasure to have taken part in The Laureus Charity Night and the generosity of our combined clients blew the pre-sale estimate out of the window. The final ten minutes of the sale were dominated by spirited bidding, and we are delighted that the IWC worn by renowned Formula One™ driver Lewis Hamilton on the podium of his significant win at this year's British Grand Prix™ eventually sold for a staggering CHF220,000. The entirety of the proceeds will be going to charity, and it is an honour to have been part of another highly successful IWC partnership that will make a real difference to many children's lives."
