Wine from the Finest Regions Around the World Offered in Bonhams Skinner's October Sale

Boston – Bonhams Skinner's wine sale – The World in a Wineglass: Phenomenal Oenology – from October 3 – 15 offers 343 lots from around the world with bottles for a range of collectors from cellar-worthy, investment bottles, to prestigious 20th Century wines for immediate enjoyment. The majority of lots hail from an expertly curated private collection and features bottles resplendent with age and brimming with the characteristics of their time and creators. The staggering range is showcased by a fine selection from all the top wine regions around the world including Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Piedmont, Tuscany, Spain, Napa, as well as a few from Australia. The highlight of the collection are 3 bottles of Chateau Petrus, 1961, estimated at $17,000 – 22,000.

Of particular note in the sale is a remarkable selection of older California wines spanning the 60s to today – an offering that not only highlights exceptional vintages in various formats, but also celebrates the pioneering spirit that has shaped American winemaking. This includes trailblazing producers such as Diamond Creek Vineyards, with vintages on offer dating back to 1982, and the exclusive A Lake Vineyard 1992 estimated at $1,200 - 1,600.

Complement to California are bottles from Bordeaux's esteemed First Growths and Right Bank. These wines exemplify the timeless artistry and meticulous craftsmanship that have established this region as the leader in fine wine. Of note are 12 bottles of Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1982, estimated at $9,000 – 12,000, and 6 bottles of Chateau Cheval Blanc 1961, estimated at $7,000 – 9,500. This sale will also present pristine original wood cases such as 2010 Chateau Lafite Rothschild, estimated at $3,200 – 4,200, and Chateau Latour 2008, estimated at $3,800 – 4,800.
