London – A diamond three-stone ring set with old brilliant-cut diamonds took the spotlight at the Bonhams Knightsbridge Jewels sale on 12 October surpassing its top estimate by two times to achieve £15,300.
Carole Gordon, Bonhams Head of Department Knightsbridge, Jewellery, UK, commented: "We continue to see high demand for diamonds in the market across all categories including rings, earrings and brooches, the latter which are increasingly popular resulting in the top ten lots of the Knightsbridge Jewels sale all being predominantly diamonds."
The sale also saw an exquisite ring featuring a step-cut aquamarine set between bifurcated shoulders set with brilliant-cut diamonds achieving £9,563 selling above the pre-sale estimate.

Other highlights include:
• A diamond flower brooch, featuring the flowerhead, stem and leaves set with cushion-shaped diamonds, with a pear-shaped diamond flower by, achieved £9,563.
• A diamond plaque brooch, circa 1915 set throughout with old brilliant-cut diamonds, achieved £7,013 selling above the pre-sale estimate.
• A spectacular shell cameo necklace from the second half of 19th century featuring twelve graduating cameos depicting classical and mythological scenes and figures achieved £14,025, over four times its estimate.
• An enamel and gem-set Holbeinesque pendant, circa 1870 with a central oval cabochon ruby in a foiled closed back setting within a polychrome enamel frame decorated with pink gem cabochons and suspended set tassel. The pendant sold for £7,013.
