Amelie Rolin
Paris – Bonhams has announced the arrival of Amélie Rolin as a specialist in Chinese Art in Paris with immediate effect (September 2022).
After studying Law at the Sorbonne and Art History at IESA, Amélie began her career at Galerie Bertrand de Lavergne. She specialised in snuff bottles and Chinese porcelain. Amélie then joined Cabinet Portier and more particularly the Chinese Art department, which collaborates with Drouot and several auction houses in France. For ten years, the specialist appraised objects and organised major sales in various fields of Asian art in Paris and France. She has worked on prestigious collections such as the Strycker porcelain collection in 2012, the Edward Choate O'Dell snuff bottles in 2015, the Portier collection in 2016. She has participated in publications such as the Qianlong vase known as the Immortal Lantern sold for €4.4 million, a yellow Yangcai vase sold for €2.47 million in 2020, a Fencai pomegranate vase sold for €400,000 in 2021 and recently a Qianlong nephrite seal valued at €914,400 in April 2022.
From 2018 to 2022, Amélie teaches courses on Asian art objects and current trends in the Asian Art market to future auctioneers at the École du Louvre. She is currently a member of the ICSBS - International Snuff Bottle Society, a member of the Oriental Ceramic Society and a member of the International Netsuke Society.
