Los Angeles––Bonhams appoints Hannah Thompson as the West Coast Head of Asian Art, based in Los Angeles. Working with a team of experienced Asian art specialists across the US led by Dessa Goddard, Hannah will assume responsibility for managing Bonhams Asian Art department in Los Angeles, including client development, business getting, appraisal, selling strategies and operations.
Hannah brings to Bonhams extensive experience in both commercial and academic sectors of the art world, having held positions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Palace Museum Taipei, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the University of California Berkeley. She was most recently Chinese Works of Art specialist for Sotheby's.
Dessa Goddard, US Head, Asian Art Group, commented: "I am very pleased to welcome Hannah to spearhead our Los Angeles saleroom, where we hold around 6 Asian art sales a year. Her experience will be invaluable as we continue to expand our offering on the West Coast."

Bonhams global Asian art sales in 2021 will conclude with two final sales in Los Angeles on 16 and 17 December, featuring a diverse line-up of furniture, paintings, ceramics, porcelains, jade carvings, bronze, and textiles. Highlights include:
