BONHAMS DUBLIN MARKS 5TH ANNIVERSARY WITH HIGHLIGHTS PREVIEW AND LECTURE SERIES

Bonhams Office in Ireland marks its fifth anniversary this spring with a series of free public lectures by prominent Irish art historians and a preview of highlights from Bonhams Modern British and Irish Art sale in London on June 15.

Auction highlights

The preview will take place at Bonhams, 31 Molesworth Street Dublin 2 from 17-19th April. Paintings include Lough Corrib from Glenadda by Paul Henry (estimate £40,000-60,000); Single File by Jack Butler Yeats (estimate £30,000-50,000) and Seated Woman II by Frederick Edward McWilliam (estimate £8,000-10,000).

Viewing times are:

Sunday, 17th of April – 12am to 5pm
Monday, 18th – Wednesday, 20th of April, 10am to 5pm
Tuesday, 19th of April, 6pm to 9pm

Lecture series

The lecture series begins on Tuesday 15 March at 6.00 p.m. with a talk on Paul Henry by the world's leading authority on the artist, Dr S B Kennedy.

This will be followed by:

22nd March, 6pm – Dr Nicola Gordon-Bowe, Imaging the Irish Revival: The Arts and Crafts Movement in Ireland
12th April, 6pm – James Hanley RHA, Portraits and Stories
19th April, 6pm – Dickon Hall, Colin Middleton: A Defining Decade, 1939-1949; Dr Riann Coulter, F.E. McWilliam: The Reluctant Surrealist
26th April, 6pm – Bruce Arnold, The Discriminating Collector
