Footnotes

The Roxy Theater:
The Roxy Theater in Los Angeles, commonly referred to as "The Roxy" is an iconic music venue that was an essential part of the Los Angeles music scene since its opening in 1973. Located on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, the Roxy became one of the most famous spots in the city. Founded by Lou Adler, a record producer, and Elmer Valentine, the owner of the Whisky a Go Go. The venue hosted some of the biggest names in music such as Neil Young, who played the opening night of the club, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Frank Zappa, Bob Marley & The Wailers and The Ramones.

The venue is remembered for legendary performances including the famous live recording of Neil Young's Roxy: Tonight's the Night Live, which was later released in 2018 and designed by Burden.

The all-star band on this album features Neil Young (guitars, vocals, piano), Ben Keith (pedal steel, slide guitars, vocals), Billy Talbot (bass), Ralph Molina (drums, vocals) and Nils Lofgren (piano, vocals, guitars) – the line-up known as the Santa Monica Flyers. Young was one of the first artists to perform at The ROXY Theater on the Sunset Strip. The shows took place on September 20-22, 1973.
