A tall Corinthian pottery alabastron

Early Corinthian, circa 620-590 B.C.
Decorated with a confronting swan and panther, their bodies filling the height of the vessel, rosettes in the field 19cm high

Henning Throne-Holst was a distinguished industrialist and noted collector, who held numerous diverse memberships, including that of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, and the National Swedish Arts Council. In recognition of his cultural contribution, a portrait of him was commissioned by the Swedish State as part of a collection honouring distinguished Swedes.
