The Patek Philippe "Mount Everest" reference 5089G-029 is a beautiful early example of what eventually would become the "Rare Handcrafts" series for Patek Philippe. Featuring a remarkable depiction of Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, the dial evokes the grandeur of human achievements and the timeless beauty of the Himalayas. As a part of the 'Enchanted Mountains' series, a limited edition of 10 pieces, it is distinguished by its cloisonné enamel dials, and each timepiece is a unique masterpiece due to their handcrafted nature. The dials required between 15 and 28 enamel colors and underwent 12 to 20 firings at around 800°C. All of the enamel work seen here is produced to the highest possible standards of artistry that can be achieved with the medium. The current lot is even more rare, in that it will be a first time at auction that a single sealed and brand-new condition example is made available for sale. For lovers who appreciate the pinnacle of enamel work from arguably the world's greatest maison, this is a rare and special opportunity to obtain such a stunning and impressive timepiece.
