This Panerai Luminor Marina Militare is a very rare and special timepiece in the annals of history of the famed Italian watchmaker. The back outer engraving S.M.Z./M.M.121 inner side has the Montes ROLEX, Geneva 6152 1 engraved. Only 36 examples in total are known with an SMZ engraving on the case back over the four different variations of the 6152-1. The watch is equipped with the original "double pencil" hands with sharp pins. The Cortébert-made Rolex 618 calibre with 17 jewels, over coiled Breguet hairspring and Incabloc shock protection is in beautiful condition. The watch comes with its original soft iron cover which shields the movement from strong magnetic fields emitted by limpet mines. The Panerai crown guards on this Ref 6152/1 are stamped with number 6. In good condition given its age, this timepiece is a truly special and incredibly rare example, and a must have for the greatest Panerai collectors.
