Footnotes
Greenwood remarks that this print, along with three others (Our Family I, Lion & Zebras, and Indian Elephant), were commissioned by the National Art Collections Fund for Bawden's retrospective at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1989.
The profits from their sale helped towards the fundraising for the NACF Modern Art Fund, launched the same year.
According to the evidence gathered by the author of the catalogue raisonné, the intended editions comprised 100 examples for Our Family I, 100 plus 12 artist's proofs for Our Family II, 75 plus 12 artist's proofs for Lion & Zebras, and 25 for Indian Elephant.
