A GOLD-LACQUER SUZURIBAKO (BOX FOR WRITING UTENSILS)
Decorated in iro-e hiramaki-e with an archery set, a tachi sword, and a court cap, the interior with paper dolls, all on a nashiji ground, signed Kajikawa saku with a red pot seal on the underside of the cover, the water dropper formed as an ivy-strewn cottage, silver rims.
1 1/2 x 4 1/4 x 8 1/2in (3.8 x 10.7 x 21.6cm) (5 wood box).

A family heirloom collection mostly formed in Japan during the late 1960s and in the USA during the 1970s, thence by descent to the present owner.
