An 11-Bore Percussion D.B. Sporting Gun
By Perrins & Son, Makers, 2 Saint Swithin St., Worcester, Circa 1860

With rebrowned elaborately twist sighted barrels (ramrod-stop missing) signed in full along the rib and stamped 'ALEXANDER' beneath each breech, breeches with white-metal lines in front, engraved with foliate scrollwork between and each with platinum plug, border engraved tang decorated with foliate scrollwork involving a gamebird in a circle, border engraved back-action locks signed in capitals, one decorated with a pointer flushing a pheasant, and the other with a spaniel flushing a snipe, foliate engraved hammers, figured half-stock with chequered grip and fore-end, the former with engraved white-metal butt-trap behind with hinged circular cover, the latter with engraved white-metal fore-end cap, steel mounts (some old wear and rust patination) comprising butt-plate engraved with pheasants on the heel tang, scroll trigger-guard with a pointer and snipe on the border engraved bow, white-metal barrel-bolt escutcheons, and brass-mounted ramrod, Birmingham proof marks
