A Very Rare Flintlock 16-Bore 1776 Pattern Royal Artillery Carbine
Late 18th Century

With sighted barrel engraved 'ROYᴸ ARTILLERY 2ᴰB' along the top at the breech, plain tang, border engraved rounded lock of 1777 pattern (replacement ring-neck cock and steel) with 'GR' crowned and 'Tower' across the tail, figured full stock (some old bruising, long slender chip along either side behind the fore-end cap) stamped with inspector's marks behind the trigger-guard tang and 'TS' on the side-flat, regulation brass mounts (rear ramrod-pipe replaced), including brass escutcheon engraved 'G' over '69', sling loops, and later steel ramrod, King's proof marks
