A Pair Of Albanian 16-Bore Flintlock Silver-Mounted Holster Pistols
Dated 1231AH For 1815AD

With two-stage barrels, octagonal breeches inlaid with chased silver foliage in low relief along the top flats, tangs and locks en suite, the latter including the cocks, pans, and steels, steel springs signed in Arabic, figured full stocks inlaid with silver wire scrollwork including the date and inscription 'The work of Muhammad Tilimsan', and with pinned silver panels pierced and engraved with foliage involving stars, the back of each butt with a pair banners, mounts cast and chased with foliage in low relief and comprising shaped side-plates, spurred pommels each with rounded red coral (corallium rubrum) terminal, finely punched foliate escutcheons, muzzle-sleeve and barrel band each over a silver fore-end mount and embossed, pierced and chased with elaborate symmetrical scrolling foliage, and original wooden ramrods each with silver tip chased with a foliate spiral (2)
