A 12-Bore Percussion Officer's Pistol

With browned sighted barrel (some surface rust), border engraved case-hardened breech, tang, signed flat lock, and hammer (nose chipped), figured full stock with horn fore-end cap, circular case-hardened butt-cap with hinged butt-trap cover, silver escutcheon engraved with owner's crest and motto, blued border engraved trigger-guard, and captive ramrod, Birmingham proof marks
22 cm. barrel

Footnotes

The crest and motto are possibly that of the Formby family of Formby, Lancashire, perhaps Rev. Lonsdale Formby (1816-1896)
