An 1827 Pattern Royal Naval Officer's Sword, And A Continental Cavalry Officer's Sabre

The first with fullered blade (some old rust patination) double edged towards the point and indistinctally etched on one side with scrolling foliage and a crowned fouled anchor, and on the other with further scrolling foliage and monogram, regulation gilt-brass hilt of simulated bars against a stippled ground and incorporating a crowned fouled anchor in an oval, lion-head pommel and faceted back-piece in one, wire-bound fishskin-covered grip, and sword-knot, in its leather scabbard with brass mounts; the second with curved fullered blade indistinctly etched on both sides with foliage, brass hilt of two bars swept-up to join the knuckle guard, lobed rear quillon, and wire-bound leather-covered grip, in its brass scabbard with two rings for suspension (2)
