Footnotes

Another version of this edition of the Daily Prophet appears in the film 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire'. The double-page spread titled 'Teenage Tragedy: Harry Potter and the Triwizard Cup' alongside 'The Champions are Selected' can be seen between 42:42 minutes and 43:01 minutes, just before Harry crumples it up and throws it into the Gryffindor common-room fire. This moment serves as the lead in to the scene where Sirius Black speaks to him through the Floo network.

The design detail and meticulous attention to craftsmanship by the art department are evident in the creation of this Daily Prophet. The newspaper has been thoughtfully constructed, with clever references to the plot woven into the headlines and subheadings. Humorous additions also help to expand the viewer's sense of the wider wizarding world, such as the headline 'Vampire Admitted to Casualty After Garlic Bread Overdose' on the final page, and 'Secret Stash of Potent Polyjuice Potions Uncovered' on page three.

Provenance:
Gifted to the present owner by the production team in 2009/2010, when they worked as part of the post-production sound department at Leavesden Studios on 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.' The vendor worked on three of the Harry Potter Films.
