Of ovoid form, the face marked by arching brows, narrow eyes, sharp cheeks and nose above the crescent mouth, black pigment delineating the hair and chin tattoos, pierced about the perimeter for additional elements.

The collection of Madeline Langworthy was assembled over a relatively short period of time in the early 1930s, with some masks acquired remotely from curio shops in Alaska, while other examples came through the U.S. Mercantile Company, sourced by agents trading with remote Native Alaskan villages during the summer season.
