A Meissen part service, circa 1730

Each painted in underglaze-blue with stylised rockwork and double line borders to the rims, edged in gilding and in polychrome enamels with flowering branches of indianische Blumen, insects and pagodas, the insides of the teabowls and the waste bowl with a flower spray within concentric circles, the rims with diaper brders, comprising: a teapot and cover, an octagonal sugar box and cover, a waste bowl, and two teabowls and saucers, the teapot: 12.5cm high; the sugar box: 11cm across; the waste bowl: 16cm diam.; 7.8cm high crossed swords marks and "S." (inside footrims) in underglaze-blue, incised / inside footrim of waste bowl and x inside footrim of one teabowl (small repair to rim of teapot cover) (9)
