A pair of Meissen teabowls and saucers, circa 1730

The teabowls and saucers decorated with reserved cartouches depicting merchant harbour scenes, the borders framed with puce, gilt, and iron-red painted ornament, the interior decorated with strapwork gilding around the inside rim, the well painted with a spray of indianische Blumen encircled with two iron-red bands, the underside rim of the saucers with three concentric iron-red bands, the saucers: 12.2cm diam., the teabowls: 4.3cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, gilder's mark "K." to base of cups and saucers, collector's label (stuck to base), (4)
