A Meissen beaker, circa 1725

Of flared, conical form, finely painted with a continuous chinoiserie scene depicting a figure seated in a chariot pulled by another figure, flanked by a child with a dog on a leash and another standing figure, the reverse with a footbridge over a river flanked by flowering plants, below a gilt scrollwork border to the rim, a similar border inside, the flared foot with burnished gilt band, 7.4cm high (minor restoration to footrim)
