A Meissen beaker, circa 1725

Of flared, conical form, finely painted with a continuous Chinoiserie scene depicting a woman cradling the head of a man in her lap, a child beside them, the reverse with a figure beside a leaping dog and a seated figure, an attendant holding a large vase to the side, below a gilt scrollwork border to the rim, a similar border inside, the flared gadrooned foot with burnished gilt band, 7.4cm high, gilt 1. (minor rubbing to gilding)
