A pair of Vienna, Sorgenthal period, cups and saucers, circa 1802

Each painted in grey with a landscape vignette on a pale-yellow ground, the saucers with classical figures titled 'l'Homme de probité' and 'l'Eloquence', respectively, the cups with Cupid or an angel titled 'l'Offre' and 'l'Union', respectively, formal gilt borders to the rims, the cups: 6cm high; the saucers: 13.6cm diam., shield marks in underglaze-blue, impressed date marks 802, impressed 39 to one cup, one saucer titled 'l'hom: de probité.' on reverse (tiny chip to saucer rim) (4)
