A set of five Sèvres plates delivered to the Viceroy of Egypt, dated 1847

Decorated with a gilt laurel band and stylised rosette to the well within a lapis border edged with a continuous tulip frieze in gilt, 24.2cm diam., stamped "LP" monogram to four plates, of which three dated 1847 and one 1848, in gilt to the base, various incised numerals, inventory number in green, (5)

Footnotes

These plates belong to a service delivered to Mehemet Ali, Viceroy of Egypt from 1804 to 1849, on May 31, 1833 (Arch. Sèvres, Vz 5, 97 and 98), of which several parts were restocked between 1833 and the Viceroy's death in 1849.
