The plate is likely to have belonged to a set of 24 plates purchased by an anonymous cash buyer on 3 May 1762 (see David Peters, Sèvres plates and Services of the 18th Century, vol. I, 2015, p. 153). One plate from this set is in the Musée des Arts décoratifs, Paris, and two others are in the collection of the Louvre.
