Footnotes

"...I used to use the normal input in the Vox (AC-30), which was not known as the brilliance input. It wouldn't be bright enough; therefore I used the Rangemaster. Then I went to a Fender Twin, a Tweed Twin, and I had a Deluxe which I bought for the studio."
- Rory Gallagher, 'The Wearing Of The Blues', interview with Vivian Campbell for the magazine, Guitar For The Practicing Musician, August 1991.

It is thought this is the amp that Rory took with him for his three-day audition with the Rolling Stones. This took place in Rotterdam's De Doelen Concert Hall in January 1975 as the Stones looked for a replacement for Mick Taylor, who had suddenly left the group the previous month.
