Footnotes

This amp was bought by Rory in 1977 and used for both live and studio work.

Speaking in March 1978, Rory commented: "Recently I got a Fender Concert, which is an old brown one, from around 1959, with four 10" speakers. I use a Hawk booster through that just to roughen it up a bit, or if it's a quiet number I plug straight in and keep the guitar clean sounding."

After keyboard player Lou Martin joined the band, Rory found that Fender amps suited the sound of the band better than the Vox AC30s he had previously used. He had three Fender favourites, the Bassman, Twin and Concert, sometimes pairing two of these together or using one with an AC30. With the Fenders, he used a Hawk II Tonal Expander as he had used a Rangemaster Treble Booster with the AC30.
