The National Reso-Phonic Guitar Company was founded in 1989 by Don Young and McGregor Gaines. They began in a garage but moved to a factory in San Luis Obsipo, California in 1990. Their objective was to build instruments based on the original National designs. Just 206 examples of this model were made, 1990-1993.
