In 1998, Cartier paid homage to its classic heritage by introducing the Collection Privée Cartier Paris, a limited series showcasing timeless designs with traditional mechanical movements from the previous century. This exclusive series produced in limited numbers until 2008 included the Crash, Chinoise, Obus, Tank Cintrée and Asymétrique to name a few. The Tank Cintrée Dual Time, crafted in white gold and limited to just 100 pieces, was specially designed for the Asian market in 2004. This unique timepiece features two separate mechanical movements, each controlled by its own faceted crown within a singular casing. Arranged vertically, the upper dial displays the iconic Cartier Roman numerals at the quarter-hour marks, while the lower dial for the second time zone adds a playful element with Chinese numerals. The current lot is in excellent condition and is numbered 68 out of this iconic limited series. Exuding elegance and refined taste, this piece is a true representation of the CPCP line and is a must have grail level watch for the most discerning Cartier collectors.
