The name Audemars Piguet is often synonymous with the Royal Oak. Yet, the Edward Piguet Tourbillon reference 25947OR, which honors one of the brand's co-founders, stands as a hidden gem within the maison's collections. Its distinctive rectangular case offers a unique take on Audemars Piguet's design philosophy, diverging from the renowned Royal Oak's well-known octagonal design. This timepiece serves as a sophisticated and refined counterpart to the sportier Royal Oak Offshore. Crafted out of 18k pink gold with polished and brushed edges, the highlight of the timepiece is the fully skeletonized dial which exposes the Calibre 2881 and its tourbillon that achieves a full rotation every minute. The bridges of movement are exquisitely detailed and engraved, and black Arabic numerals and markers on the crystal allow for clear legibility at any angle. The present lot is in good condition and is a beautiful example of this alternative Audemars Piguet design that any discerning collector will appreciate.
