The Octo Tourbillon Sapphire is an advanced and avant-garde wristwatch that boasts a robust mechanism. Its octagonal outer casing takes inspiration from the ancient Roman Massentius Basilica, dating back to 310 AD, and combines cutting-edge technology with contemporary materials.
Upon initial observation, the eye is immediately attracted to the eleven striking neon-blue columns emanating from the watch's core. These columns stand out, glowing like neon tubes in dim or dark settings, thanks to a coating of black DLC (Diamond Like Carbon), ITR2 (embedded with carbon nanotube particles), and Superluminova. The watch's casing is made of stainless steel, also coated with black DLC, while the sides of the case are crafted from synthetic sapphire that is resistant to scratches, encasing the BVL 206 calibre. The design of the open dial and see-through case sides offers a unique view into the timepiece, revealing the intricate components within. The BVL 206 calibre is equipped with a flying tourbillon that oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 per hour and has a power reserve of 64 hours. Additionally, the watch features a power reserve indicator on its reverse side.
This current lot is part of a limited edition of only 50 units, with the number 32. It is offered brand new, complete with a Bvlgari box and certificate. The most recent retail price known for this watch is around HK$480,000. This is truly a timepiece to behold in person and is daring piece for lovers of innovation watch designs.
