Footnotes

The text comprises the al-Hisar prayers, which are seven for each day of the week, and which are recommended for protection against calamities and malevolent magic.

The scroll starts with the first prayer, which belongs to Friday and which starts with lines from the Qur'an, sura XVII, al-Isra', verse 4, and sura XXXVI, Ya Sin, verse 9.
