Compare with a pair of very similar seated boys in blue-glazed tunics, circa 1750, illustrated by D.Howard, The Choice of the Private Trader: The Private Market in Chinese Export Porcelain illustrated from the Hodroff Collection, London, 1994, p.254, no.301; and Colin Sheaf and Richard Kilburn, The Hatcher Porcelain Cargoes: The Complete Record, Oxford, 1988, pp.156-7, pl.207, illustrating a number of similar boys which have been salvaged from the Geldermalsen (1752).
