A PALE GREEN AND RUSSET JADE CARVING OF A MYTHICAL BEAST

Ming Dynasty
Expertly carved as a single-horned mythical beast in a crouched position, with the head turned backward, featuring bulbous eyes beneath bushy brows, finely carved mane flowing down the breast, a knobbly spine and bifurcated tail, the stone of celadon hue with brown and russet striations. 6.5cm (2 1/2in) high
