Satish Gujral is celebrated for his ability to infuse his work with a profound sense of emotion and depth. At the centre of the composition is the titular figure, engrossed in the act of playing the tabla, a traditional Indian percussion instrument. Through his masterful use of form and colour, Gujral imbues the musician with a sense of dynamism and vitality, evidenced through the glowing halo that surrounds the musician.
