Untitled (Ganesh) is a captivating watercolour that pays homage to the beloved Hindu deity, Lord Ganesha. This exquisite work exemplifies Husain's profound reverence for Indian culture and spirituality, as well as his mastery of the watercolour medium. Set against a backdrop of delicate washes, the figure of Lord Ganesha appears playful as he is depicted in a reclining posture. His trunk is turned towards the left, representing Ida Nadi or Chandra Nadi, which brings forth feminine energy or nourishment, peace and relaxation to homes. The economy of line, coupled with the transparent and luminous quality of the watercolour gives the work an air of elegance and majesty, adding to the mystical aura of the deity.
