THREE CARVED WOOD ARTICLES

Qing dynasty, 19th century
Including a rootwood carving a mythical beast moving in a swirling S-form motion with a raised tail at one end and a hound-like head at the other, supported by a separately-carved stand from the same rootwood material; and a pair of lacquered wood curtain hooks, each modeled as a phoenix descending from the mouth of dragon forming the top of the hook.

5 1/4in (13.3cm) height of beast, including stand; 8 3/4in (22.2cm) length of curtain hooks (3).
