Persia, 10th Century

of inverted piriform on a short foot with flaring neck and strap handle, decorated in manganese and tomato-red on a cream ground with a band of split-palmette motifs interspersed by knotted tendrils to the shoulder, the neck with knotted tendrils, all on a stippled ground, the rim with a zig-zag band, the handle with hatched decoration to the top
